Since 2021 rumors have been spreading that Amazon was going to accept Dogecoin as payment. Unfortunately, that has never happened. Now the rumor is re-igniting due to the fact that Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is now following Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus on Twitter. When Markus, who goes by the pseudonym Shibetoshi Nakamoto on Twitter, heard of the news he sent out a series of tweets relating to the fact.
In the first tweet, Markus states he loves buying from Amazon which could be insinuating he and the Dogecoin community would love to buy items from Amazon and pay with Dogecoin. However, the last tweet seems to suggest that Markus was surprised that Bezos decided to follow him. Meaning, IF a Dogecoin payment option for Amazon is in the works, Markus seems to be in the dark about those plans. Truthfully, Jeff Bezos and Amazon have never hinted in the past if they would be willing to accept doge or any crypto for that matter as a payment option. But maybe this is a hint or the beginning of that changing in the future.
